KCPT TV: Channel 19 Kansas City came on the air in 1961 as KCSD as part of the Kansas City School District. In 1972 the call letters were changed to KCPT with PBS programming. Studios, transmitter, and tower are located in the facility that was originally KCTV from 1955 until 1983. The photos of the station at 125 East Thirty First Street are from 2016. Please note, KCTV Channel 5 has their transmitter and antenna at this location.

KCSP: 610 Kansas City has a long history that started in 1922 as 9XAB on 833. Later that became WDAF and in 1928 the move to 610. In 2003 the calls were changed to KCSP. Studios are located with other Entercom stations at 7000 Squibb Road (see KMBZ below) as seen in the photos from 2016.

KDRO TV: KDRO TV Channel 6 Sedalia came on the air in 1954. The print ad is from 1958 when they were an ABC affiliate. Note, Channel 6 is now KMOS TV and a PBS affiliate.

KHQA TV: KHQA TV Channel 7 came on the air in 1953. The print ads are from the 1950s.

KLRX: 97.3 FM licensed to Lee's Summit came on the air in 1998 as KCSX serving the Kansas City market with country music. In 2003 the calls were changed to KZPL "The Planet" with a rock music format. In 2005 the calls were changed to KCXM "Max-FM" rock and later changing to ESPN sports. In 2007 the calls were changed to KLRX. They are part of the K-Love network airing Christian music. KMJK: 107.3 FM North Kansas City has seen a lot of call changes. In 1981 they were KBEK, in 1984 KCAC, then KCFM in 1988. In 1989 they became KXXR, 1997 KCCX, 1998 KNRX and then in 2001 to KMJK. Studios are located with KCMO Radio (see above) at 5800 Foxridge Drive as seen in the photos from 2016.

KMOV TV: Channel 4 Saint Louis came on the air in 1954 at KWK-TV. In 1958 the calls were changed to KMOX-TV and then in 1986 the change to KMOV-TV was made. They are a CBS affiliate. The screen grabs are from 2008.

KPLR TV: KPLR TV Channel 11 Saint Louis started in 1959. The call letters reflect the person that started the station, Harold KoPLaR. They are a CW affiliate The screen grab is from 2008.

KPRT: 1590 Radio Kansas City started in 1950 as KPRS. The call letters were changed to KPRT in 1971. Their transmitter and tower are located at the corner of Linwood Boulevard and Norton Avenue as seen in the photos from 2016.

KQTV: Channel 2 Saint Joseph came on the air in 1953 as KFEQ TV. In 1969 the call letters were changed to KQTV. The KFEQ TV print ad is probably from 1954. John received KQTV via skip reception 709 miles away in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1970. The screen shot is from that reception.

KSDK TV: Channel 5 Saint Louis came on the air in 1947 as KSD-TV. In 1979 the K at the end was added, now as KSDK TV they are the NBC affiliate for Saint Louis. The screen grabs are from 2008.

KTVO: KTVO Channel 3 came on the air in 1955. The station is licensed to Kirksville, but also serves the Ottumwa, Iowa market. The ad below is from June of 1958.

KWOD: 1660 Radio Kansas City started in 1998 as KBJC. Then in 2000 to KWSJ, 2001 KXTR, briefly in 2007 as WDAF then back to KXTR. In 2011 the calls were changed to KUDL and then in 2011 to KWOD. KYTV: KYTV Channel 3 Springfield came on the air in 1953. The 'Naked City' print ad is from 1958.

KZPT: 97.7 FM Kansas City's roots go back to W9XER. In 1962 they were KMBC, then KMBR in 1967, 1991 as KLTH. In 1998 they became KYYS, 2008 KBLV, 2009 KKSN, 2010 KGEX, and then in 2011 to KZPT. Studios are located with other Entercom stations at 7000 Squibb Road (see KMBZ above) as seen in the photos from 2016.

WDAF: 106.5 FM licensed to Liberty covers the Kansas City market. This station came on the air in 1978 as KFIX, but has seen numerous call changes. In 1979 they became KSAS, 1983 KKCI, 1986 KLYT, 1988 KXXR, 1992 KKCJ, and 1995 they changed to KCIY. That lasted until 2003 when they assumed the legandary call letters WDAF. Now as "The Wolf" they are a country music station. Studios are located with other Entercom stations at 7000 Squibb Road (see KMBZ above) as seen in the photos from 2016.
